Over three million people turned on their televisions on Tuesday (January 6th) to watch Claire Sweeney take part in a health-related experiment for ITV.
The former Brookside actress ate whatever she wanted for six weeks in order to show viewers of My Big Fat Diet the effects that an unhealthy lifestyle can have on the body and said she saw her weight increase from 9st 12lb to 11st 10lb.
Sweeney said that although this was great at first, her energy levels soon began to slump.
"I felt lethargic. Then the weight began to creep on. In the end, I had this big belly and that was the scariest thing because weight carried around your middle is the most dangerous to health," she commented.
The programme is one of a host of health-related documentaries that ITV will be screening in order to tie in with the government's Change4Life initiative. The Feelgood Factor will also be screened this month.
