Corrie's Fiz: I don't do diets
Jennie McAlpine, who plays feisty Fiz in ITV's Coronation Street, has said she is happy with her curves and does not have any intention of taking up a fad diet to lose weight.
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, the redhead called scales "outrageous contraptions" and added that she has never stepped on a pair in her life.
She commented: "Everyone knows diets don't work - end of story. How sad would life be if you didn't eat a bag of crisps?"
McAlpine won the part if Fiz at the age of 17, thanks in part to her love of quirky clothes and the fact that she stood out from the other actresses and their immaculate tans.
Actress Kate Winslet also recently spoke out against fad diets, telling the Daily Mail that she can't remember the last time she followed a restrictive regime and that she is proud of her imperfections.
