Cricketer Samit Patel has been dropped from the England one-day squad because he is overweight, it has emerged.
The 24-year-old, who weighs 13 stone and is five feet eight inches tall, was told yesterday (March 5th) that his services would no longer be required after ignoring several warnings about his fitness.
Hugh Morris, the managing director of England Cricket, said: "His fitness levels have regressed."
