Weight worries 'making up more internet searches'
Issues about weight are making up an increasing number of internet searches, new data has shown.
According to the WebWatch 2009 survey published by Private Healthcare UK, nine out of the top 20 most popular searches were for obesity, weight loss and healthy lifestyle issues.
It was also found that women over the age of 45 made up more than a third of users who were looking for information about health via the internet.
Issues relating to body mass index, calories and diabetes were also found to score highly in search engine rankings.
Keith Pollard of Private Healthcare UK said: "The data shows that people are increasingly relying on the web as a resource for a wide range of information about health and medical services."
