With the time for making resolutions upon us again, it seems health is on many people’s minds when it comes to doing so, new research has shown.
According to a poll carried out by Alliance & Leicester, 40 per cent of people said they intend to take more exercise in the new year, while 39 per cent aim to lose weight.
This was much higher than the percentage who aim to save more cash (25 per cent) or learn a new skill (40 per cent).
Hetal Parmar, manager for savings at Alliance & Leicester, said: "The tradition of kick-starting a New Year with a ’wish-list’ of resolutions clearly lives on."
However, these good intentions could fall by the wayside, with research from moneysupermarket.com showing that 42 per cent of people say they want to keep up their gym membership, but can’t afford to.
Anyone having to ditch the gym in 2009 could consider using a weight loss programme such as Night & Day from Alchemy eBusiness.
More than 1.5 million people use the supplement, which is comprised entirely of natural ingredients.
