The government has launched a multi-million pound campaign designed to get the nation moving and to combat obesity.
Using advertisements on the television and in magazines and newspapers, the Change4Life initiative uses the message "Eat well, move more, live longer" and features Plasticine characters designed by the same people behind Wallace and Gromit.
It is also backed by companies such as Nestle, Coca-Cola and Mars and the Department of Health commented that it hopes to kick-start a lifestyle revolution for every family in the UK.
"Our aim with this campaign could not be more ambitious - it's to make sure our children live longer, healthier lives. We want families to engage with the campaign and understand that obesity is not someone else's problem," said public health minister Dawn Primarolo.
Gym owner Mike McKinney recently told WMBB News 13 that the second week in January usually shows an increase in the number of people working out as they try to begin the new year in a more healthy way.
