Overweight women 'may be unlucky in love'
Women who are overweight may find it more difficult to find a partner than their thinner counterparts, it has been claimed.
According to Tam Fry of the National Obesity Forum, this is a proven fact, despite many men purporting to like curvy women.
In addition, the women may suffer from discrimination in other areas of their life, he said.
"They also will find problems in the workplace, because employers will know, first of all, that many of their clients will find fat women in the office unattractive," Mr Fry commented.
"Obese women who recognise their obesity find it extremely stigmatising and embarrassing," the source concluded.
Last month, obesity expert Deborah Bonser told the Telegraph that people overeat because they use food to cure their emotional pain, which creates a vicious circle of overeating and weight gain.
She said she believes up to 70 per cent of the people who are overweight are like that for this reason.
